Green Chilli Sesame Curry

After a short sweet vacation it is very difficult to be back to a routine : -P . Today i am sharing a very tasty and simple authentic Andhra recipe. I used long green chilli(Anaheim) which are very mild, six to eight inches in size,shiny light green in the sesame curry, instead of long green chilli other veggies like capicum (bell pepper), bottle gourd or drumsticks can also be used too with a small variation.

You will be amazed by its health benefits of sesame, there are also lot of home remedies for toothache,burns,dysentry,impotency and mild irregular menstrual cycle with sesame.

This green chilli sesame curry is mild and delicious, and very easy to make.This recipe was taught to me by my mother.

Ingredients
  • 6 long green chilli(1 inch length pieces)
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1/4 tsp cummin seeds (jeera)
  • salt to taste
Tempering
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp cummin seeds
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 2 normal green chilli (sliced) - optional
  • pinch of hing (Asafoetida)
Cooking Procedure

Heat a pan and dry roast sesame seed,cummin seeds and coconut powder and keep aside to cool

After it cools blend it into fine paste with little water

Heat oil in a pan, and cummin seeds, urad dal, mustard seeds and once mustard seeds splutter

Add hing ,regular green chilli and curry leaves and stir it

Add the long green chillis (cut 1 inch length) and salt and let it cook till chillies become soft

Add the sesame paste and stir nicely to blend with chillies

Cook it for another 2 minutes or until oil starts to appear in pan

Serve hot with rice or rotis
